History
In Italy, Fedrigoni Cartiere is synonymous with paper. Today we’re part of the Fedrigoni Group: a global enterprise of several integrated companies producing everything from art paper and stationery to paper security systems and banknotes.
Our name has been linked with paper-making as far back as 1717, when budding paper merchant Giuseppe Fedrigoni founded the San Colombano paper mill in the ancient northern fortress town of Rovereto.
It wasn’t until 1888, when his descendant Giuseppe Antonio Fedrigoni combined his savings, his wife’s dowry and capital provided by a partner to set up the first mill in Verona that production began on an industrial scale and Fedrigoni Cartiere was born.
The company quickly became renowned not just for the unrivalled quality of its paper, but also for its commitment to research, experimentation and invention. The factory itself has since seen two world wars, four fires and five generations of a family that still runs the company today.

Production
Since its foundation in 1888, Fedrigoni has specialised in fine paper for printing, editing, labels, bookbinding, packaging and paper products.
While this remains very much at the heart of the business, the company continually creates new paper processes and technologies that satisfy the ever-changing aesthetic and technical demands of the market.
Thanks to an advanced logistics system benefiting from 11 warehouse branches in Italy and seven abroad, Fedrigoni builds strong relationships with customers and provides them with highly tailored services, with very fast turnaround times.
By collaborating closely with customers, Fedrigoni creates specially customised paper products along with the 2,500 standard items that are always in stock.

Environment
We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously.
We work hard to minimise our impact, reducing our use of energy and water and decreasing the carbon emissions at every stage of the manufacturing process.
The Group has dedicated many years to expanding its range of papers bearing the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody certification, which oversees the safeguarding of natural habitats as well as guaranteeing sustainability. By 2010, we had achieved a percentage of no less than 85%.

People
Our most important asset is our people. It’s their dedication and passion that make our business what it is.
In return, we are committed to giving all of our employees the skills and training they need to reach their full potential.
Across the group, we have nearly two thousand employees in seven countries. We ask all of our employees to comply with the Group’s Code of Ethics, which endorses principles of transparency, fairness, trust and good working conduct, as well as setting clear and consistent standards for health, safety and environmental management.
Every year, around 75% of our permanent workforce attend at least one training course, which is either managerial or technical/specialist (excluding technical on-the-job-training). This adds up to almost 20,000 hours of training each year.
