Bootees- Pattern Development

The brush stokes weren’t right for the t-shirts, neither of us liked them that much so we started again, we went back to looking at our research and experimenting again. Experimenting by hand was really useful, cutting shapes out and painting to get a more hand crafted feel. I scanned them in and started to manipulate them digitally.

After scanning in the patterns instead of going straight to screen print I decided to moc some ideas up of where the shapes could go on the tshirts, this way I could figure out which shapes look best. From the moc ups I decided that the block Henri Mattise style patterns work best.
