After attempting to use paper cutouts I went back digitally to define the artwork of the t-shirts. We want the brand to be fun and bright and the best designs we came up with so far were the block shapes so we decided to carry this forward. From looking at vintage tshirts we decided to have some in square shapes and oblong giving the designs more of a statement. We developed a design that could go all over the tshirt and a face that would be printed in four colours. Each design will be printed in four colours which will take a long time to dry in-between so with good planning hopefully the six designs of tshirts would be done as soon as possible ready for the photoshoots.

Cheese Society- Dairy Disco Event
The Dairy Disco was held at the Bilbao Bar in Granary Whalf, I was pretty happy with the turn out considering we didn't promote it around uni because we ran out of time we only promoted it online via Facebook. This event seemed very last minute but I have high hopes for the Cheese Ball the last cheese event that myself and the president will organise.
Bootees- Paper screen printing
As we want to continue the Bootees t shirt brand when we finish uni we decided to first experiment with paper cut outs with the shapes, this worked well but in terms or production and creating more than one t shirt we thought this would be difficult, also as we are running out of time and this method takes along time to produce so we thought we would be better exposing the screens with the designs. This development has been a useful learning curve as this is how we would develop the brand after uni.
Bootees- Preparing artwork for Laser cut
After the paper cuttings out didn't work as well as we wanted, we still wanted to use paper stencils, so we decided to lazer cut the designs out so they could be used multiple times and the lazer cutter would give a neater effect.
After lazer cutting we started to screen print and realised that using the paper stencils doesn't make the designs look very neat on paper so when we screen printed them onto t-shirts it would only get worse. We were using the paper technique as Bootees is a brand that myself and Hollie want to continue after uni but we don't have an exposure unit. We decided to expose the designs and use the colleges facilities while we can and figure out how to continue the brand at a later stage.

Bootees- Pattern Development
The brush stokes weren’t right for the t-shirts, neither of us liked them that much so we started again, we went back to looking at our research and experimenting again. Experimenting by hand was really useful, cutting shapes out and painting to get a more hand crafted feel. I scanned them in and started to manipulate them digitally.
After scanning in the patterns instead of going straight to screen print I decided to moc some ideas up of where the shapes could go on the tshirts, this way I could figure out which shapes look best. From the moc ups I decided that the block Henri Mattise style patterns work best.

Booties- Patterns and Screen Printing Tests
As a pattern experiment for the t-shirts we exposed some brush stroke patterns and printed on paper developing the designs before the t shirts arrived. We screen printed with threes colours to see how the colours would blend and layer. What we liked about the patterns is the texture of the brush patterns on paper in colour.
Neither of us loved the designs we created and when scanned in and edited on photoshop they didn’t look as good as expected. However this has been a good experiment using colour, texture and pattern. As we both don’t like the designs we have created we need to go back revise our research and re design, this has been good development and we have realised that the colours work well together.
